The village of Uki is on the eastern side of Mount Warning just a 20 minute drive from Murwillumbah. Every year the hugely popular Ukitopia Festival happens in September — it’s a weekend-long family-friendly festival with activities and events that span across the performing and visual arts. The festival includes workshops that include pottery, jewellery making and collage and painting, all in one-hour “bite size” formats. There are children performers, music, dance, and art, and circus; and the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market, one of the the last of the 70s style markets in the area that also runs during the festival.
Every Saturday of the month the Uki Craft & Produce Market is held, along with every third Sunday, the Uki Buttery Bazaar. But don’t forget, every Wednesday is the Murwillumbah Farmers’ Market
Across the Northern Rivers there are local markets held every week that provide live entertainment, unique clothing and gifts, art and crafts stalls, organically grown produce amongst other things.
